What it is

FP1 turns a Base into a standalone instrument you run at the bench or on the wall, with no computer attached. It has no processor of its own: Trellis will drive it straight from the instrument's profile.

Capabilities

Design values.

  • A 20 × 4 backlit character display.
  • A 24-detent push knob, a BACK key and a RUN/STOP key.
  • RUN and ALERT lamps and a beeper.
  • One 30-way ribbon to the Base's Console Port.

RUN/STOP asks the instrument to stop. The hardware stop is a separate circuit.

Build with it

The pellet smoker, sous-vide bath, yogurt incubator, filament dry box, espresso retrofit, reflow oven, mash tun, heat-treat oven, CNC spindle, vacuum pump-down and transient current profiler all use FP1 as their face.
