What it is

AP1 seats a Raspberry Pi-style computer on the Base's Console Port, so it can run a touchscreen, a dashboard or a logger as the instrument's face. The computer advises; the Base stays in control.

Capabilities

Design values. Supported computers are confirmed at bring-up.

  • A 40-pin Raspberry Pi-style header, on a board the size of a Pi Zero.
  • 5.1 V at up to 3 A for the computer, from the instrument's own supply.
  • The hardware stop on a GPIO, and a jack for a stop button.
  • A once-a-second timing pulse shared with the Base, for timestamps.

Build with it

The coffee roaster, fermentation chamber, pottery kiln, greenhouse, aquarium, TEC source-measure and USB-C cycle tester all use AP1 as their face.
